BUMI Affirms The New President Director Of Berau Coal Energy

Jakarta - TAMBANG. BUMI Plc, a majority stock holder of PT Berau Coal Energy, Tbk. (BRAU), has affirmed Eko Budianto as the new President Director of BRAU, replacing Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. Previously, on 29 January 2013, BRAU management has made the announcement to public.

Eko Budianto’s previous post was the Director of Operations, fully in charge of mining operation at PT Berau Coal, a subsidiary of PT Berau Coal since June 2010. He initially joined the company in March 2010.

In addition, BUMI Plc also appoints Tony Redman, former Technical Director of Anglo American Plc and Chairman of Anglo Coal, as their technical consultant advisor for BUMI Plc.

CEO of BUMI Plc, Nick von Schirnding explained that the company’s short term strategies are to settle the separation from PT Bumi Resources, Tbk (BUMI) and to optimize BRAU operation.

“We keep tracking great progress in strengthening our operational management in Berau. We welcome the appointment of Eko and Tony. Their operational experience and expertise would be a great asset for the company. The will help cutting operational cost and boosting growth, and eventually profiting our entire business,” Schirnding said in the corporate release.

The day before, Rosan explained that he is withdrawing himself from the position, to be able to focus on expanding the growth of Recapital Group.

“Recapital business is currently experiencing a very positive growth in banking & financial, infrastructure, property, and tourism services sectors. I want to be involved more to support the growth in those sectors,” Rosan explained. []
